Meet Michael Cashmore
Michael Cashmore is a regenerative agriculture and horticulture coach for Active Soils. He puts knowledge and experience accumulated across 35 years of nursery, orchard, pastoral farming, forestry, and business management into action to empower farmers and growers to achieve positive change in their businesses and lives through optimising soil health.
Continuing to extend knowledge through curiosity and questioning, Michael has a broad range of interests.
Michael brings his expertise to one on one coaching, technical field days, and workshops with a focus on improving ecological systems, sharing the knowledge, and enabling people to take actions for themselves to achieve outcomes they’ve chosen.
Michael lives on a small farm near Hastings NZ, where he and his wife Wendy indulge their passions for healthy soil, gardening, forestry and farming. Michael plays guitar for a local band, is an active member of the Hawkes Bay Farm Forestry Association and a keen Toastmaster.
I'm most interested in how we as food producers can work with nature, maybe not mimicking nature but definitely in the spirit of nature. I'm a practical and resourceful person with well-developed observational skills, integrity, and business sense. I have developed a broad set of skills and experiences and love opportunities to apply these.
My Ideal Client Is...
Motivated to transform their system
Sees value in what I offer
Always learning, tries new things
Prepared to be part of a larger community
Pays on time
